Becoming Green: Environmentally Sustainable Practices as Drivers of Family SMEs Performance
摘要
In today’s business context, environmentally sustainable practices are becoming increasingly more important as concerns about pollution, climate change and global warming grow. Despite the current relevance of sustainability issues, there is a research lacuna concerning the adoption of environmentally friendly strategies for the case of small and medium-sized family enterprises (SMEs). In light of this, the aim of this chapter is to analyse whether the implementation of environmentally sustainable practices in family SMEs has a positive impact on their economic performance. By combining surveys and secondary data, and applying regression analyses to a sample of 183 family SMEs, our findings reveal that adopting environmentally sustainable practices positively affects firm performance. Our study contributes to the growing body of research on family SMEs sustainability, with a special focus on family firm heterogeneity.
