Can AI Enhance Self-Efficacy in Workplace? Analysis of Perceived Self-Efficacy of Moroccan Employees
摘要
This study investigates the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) tools on employees’ perceived self-efficacy in the Moroccan workplace. Based on a sample of 120 human resource professionals, the research examines how AI integration influences self-assessed performance across three cognitively demanding tasks: linguistic synthesis, analytical reasoning, and creative content generation. Employing a within-subject design, participants completed each task both with and without AI assistance. The results indicate a significant increase in perceived self-efficacy, particularly in tasks requiring linguistic and analytical skills, while improvements in creative performance were more moderate. The findings suggest that employees feel more competent when AI provides visible and immediate feedback, enhancing their confidence and cognitive engagement. However, the study also highlights that the long-term psychological impact of AI remains limited and may vary depending on task type and generational factors. Notably, younger employees tend to rely more heavily on AI, raising concerns about overdependence and diminished autonomy. These insights underscore the importance of adopting a balanced approach to AI implementation in human resource practices—one that promotes operational efficiency while fostering employees’ psychological empowerment.
