Cybersecurity Awareness and Employee Performance: A Review
摘要
This chapter explores how awareness in cybersecurity is related to employee productivity in Bahraini banks. Owing to the susceptibility of cybercrime that keeps on growing, particularly in a more digitalized world, research heavily focuses on cybersecurity awareness in boosting employee productivity and ensuring financial institutions are secure. Since Bahrain's banking industry is one of the strongest within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), it needs security-aware personnel. Continuous management through training, top management sponsorship, and corporate culture are a few of the main factors the report mentions in creating a strong cybersecurity culture among employees. It is determined that 95% of security breaches are caused by human mistakes, which points to training and awareness programs to make threats null and void. The review also determines that there is a need to integrate cybersecurity awareness into regular operations and performance measurement. It is determined that continuous training, supported with leadership engagement, significantly increases worker vigilance and organizational security. Future research would include longitudinal analysis in tracking the long-term impact of cybersecurity programs and the best practices worldwide to achieve high worker participation in cybersecurity programs. Lastly, this abstract emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach with human and technological factors to safeguard the banking sector from advanced cyber-attacks.
