This study is to analyze the direct effect of Activity-Based Learning (ABL) on student communication and cognitive skills in academic institutions within the Gulf region. The research employed a quantitative approach by analyzing data from surveys. Two different theories such as activity-based theory and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory are considered in this study. Based on the sample-to-item ratio, a minimum of 80 respondents were expected but 146 students has actively participated in the survey. The data were tested in SPSS and Smart PLS. It is observed that Activity based learning has more effect towards development of communication skill in compare to cognitive skill. The data are validated and all falls within the threshold of Cronbach alpha, Reliability, outer loading, VIF and AVE. Activity Based Learning shows a strong correlation with Communication Skills and students prefer to have group discussions inside the classroom. In future the researchers need to consider on how Activity based learning could improve the cooperative learning skills.

摘要
