This study focuses on the potential impacts of electric vehicles on society, the environment and the economy, importantly in driving us towards a more sustainable future. This study is aimed at identifying the benefits and challenges associated with its widespread use in informing policymakers and stakeholders in the transition to a sustainable future. The understanding gap is regarding the effects of E-Vehicle on society, environment and economy for making strategic policy development to maximally exploit benefits of E-Vehicle. The study will thus deploy a conceptual framework that will facilitate an evaluation on how electric vehicles can address environmental issues, social equity, and contribute towards innovation through the economy towards a more holistic approach for sustainability under transport. The methodology embraces a quantitative approach for the assessment of electric vehicles impact. From the findings, electric vehicles have a great promise towards enhancing environmental sustainability along economic growth and improvement of social equity. However challenges which include infrastructure development and battery lifecycle management will have to be addressed in order to realize these benefits fully. It is recommended that policy be directed towards enacting supportive regulations in developing charging infrastructure and encouraging research towards sustainable battery technologies to facilitate transition to electric vehicles which eventually lead to the more sustainable future.
