Visual Storytelling on Gulf Digital Media Platforms: A Comparative Study of Bahrain and Oman
摘要
This study investigates the growing interest in visual storytelling as a contemporary approach to content narration on digital media platforms in the Arab Gulf Countries (Bahrain and Oman). Through a comparative analysis on the Instagram accounts of Al-Ayyam and Akhbar Al-Khaleej in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Oman Daily and Al-Watan in the Sultanate of Oman, the research examines the dominant formats of visual storytelling, the artistic techniques employed in narrative construction, and the strategic objectives driving the adoption of this method. The findings reveal that visual storytelling is still in its early stages of implementation, signifying a nascent but promising trend within the digital media ecosystems of both countries.
