Push-ICT Theory
摘要
Technological penetration is a constant phenomenon. From time to time there is emergence of technological innovations that require adoption and use. This is even more apparent in the present digital age, where there is an upsurge of technological inventions. Buttressing this, McCain (2003) notes that since the invention of computers, the world has witnessed rapid advancement in technology, such that every technological innovation ushers in a myriad of others that will build on it, thus, creating exponential growth. Technology is increasingly becoming a part of everyday life for a lot of people globally in the form of the Internet, smartphones, and other smart devices. The exponential growth is such that McCain (2023, para. 7) notes, “Computers’ speed and power have generally been doubling every one and a half to two years since the 1960s and 70s.” Daily, the world sees new and wondrous technological breakthroughs fostering rapid change and growth that seemed unimaginable only a few years ago (Bornet, 2023; CP Ventures, 2020).
