Systemic Social Pressures
摘要
This chapter turns to the broader sociological factors that impact the moral fabric of South African society. It argues that a collective lack of self-efficacy beliefs, inadequate opportunity structures, corrupted political systems and social structures, unethical leadership, disrupted value transmission systems, inadequate social sanctioning systems and defective problem resolving mechanisms exert systemic pressures on South Africa society that are detrimental to the moral fabric of society. Specific attention is given to the historical origins of the identified systemic shortcomings in South African society, as well as the ways in which they create pressures that have a negative impact on the moral fabric of society.
