This chapter compares the structural design homology of the palm and sole. The ankle and its ligaments are discussed as are the individual tarsal bones. The layers of the sole of the foot are considered along with the plantar arch and the territory covered by the medial and lateral plantar nerves. The plantar stance and its biomechanics and the associated ligaments are discussed (long and short plantar, spring and bifurcate). The anatomy of distal lower limb amputations is mentioned (transmetatarsal, mid-tarsal and tarsometatarsal).

摘要

This chapter compares the structural design homology of the palm and sole. The ankle and its ligaments are discussed as are the individual tarsal bones. The layers of the sole of the foot are considered along with the plantar arch and the territory covered by the medial and lateral plantar nerves. The plantar stance and its biomechanics and the associated ligaments are discussed (long and short plantar, spring and bifurcate). The anatomy of distal lower limb amputations is mentioned (transmetatarsal, mid-tarsal and tarsometatarsal).
