This chapter considers the compartmental structure of the leg (extensor, peroneal and posterior). The compartment nerves are discussed (deep fibular, superficial peroneal and tibial nerves, respectively). The osteology of the tibia and the fibula and the basic structure of the tibiofibular joints are mentioned. Anatomical considerations of a lower limb fasciotomy and a below-knee amputation are discussed.
