This chapter contributes to the existing body of literature on resilience and adaptive policing by emphasising the importance of conceptualising the police as a learning organisation within the resilience framework. It examines the potential role of the police as a central node in expanding partnerships, assemblages, and multi-agency collaborations, thereby necessitating the pluralisation of policing responsibilities. This nodal role extends beyond external stakeholders and international cooperation to include the formation of a ‘green chain’ of collaboration with prosecutors and judges within the criminal justice system. Nonetheless, the police learning process is influenced by how climate change messaging is communicated to them. However, in an increasingly polarised and disinformed world, coupled with the rise of authoritarian governments, there is also a risk that environmentally progressive and climate-conscious police organisations may face challenges of frustration and isolation as well.

摘要
