In this chapter, I have described a variety of cases. The psychiatric aspects of Parkinson’s disease are dealt with in case number 1. I have included case number 2 as syphilitic infections are rare with the introduction of penicillin. It runs a risk of being overlooked and it can be present with any form of psychiatric complaint. In case number 3, I have included information on the sleep pattern in tension states and how it differs from depression, what it is like in hypomania, what it is like in the elderly and what alcohol does. In case number 4, I have detailed the affective disturbance encountered in multiple sclerosis. In case number 5, I deal with the psychiatric sequelae to head injury and how to go about writing a court report.
