Heart failure (HF) is a clinical syndrome characterized by dyspnea, fatigue, and edema. So far, various biomarkers for HF management and the application of multimodalities, such as echocardiography and cardiac MRI for diagnosing HF, have been developed, and this trend is expected to expand further in the future. However, findings obtained from medical history and physical examinations remain undeniably essential and are considered to play an increasingly crucial role in raising the pre-test probability of blood and physiological function tests. This chapter overviews the general clinical symptoms and physical examination of HF.
