Japan’s Cultural Diplomacy for Spanish-Speaking Audiences: The Local Detail
摘要
In this chapter, I first present how Japan’s CD within Spanish-speaking audiences unfolds by referring to the main patterns I could identify from the data. Following the descriptions, I introduce the general context of the relations between Japan and Latin America and Spain, and what have been the main concerns in these relationships beyond CD. By doing so I start explaining how the local detail unfolds before moving to a full explanation of the reasons for it in the next chapter. The discussion on how CD unfolds accounts for examples of both instances where the national framework is present and potential cases where local detail is visible. It is important to clarify that the answer to the ‘how’ question is highly descriptive, as I provide an in-depth and rich explanation of how CD unfolds in the field.
