Statistical Analysis in Quantitative Research

This chapter examines the fundamental statistical tools researchers use when dealing with numbers. Beginning with the fundamentals, such as descriptive statistics, which help to summarize data using averages, spreads, and patterns, it unpacks them. It then turns to inferential statistical techniques, letting us draw informed conclusions about a bigger population from a smaller sample. Illustrations of how they are utilized in research will reveal justifications for commonly used statistical tests, including t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression. The chapter underlines the significance of data quality and dependability and covers probability theory, a vital component of compelling statistical findings. Statistical software is necessary in today’s research context; we quickly examine how these tools improve accuracy and simplify analysis.
