Early detection of hypogonadism in boys is crucial to minimize complications that affect growth and reproductive development. This study aims to evaluate awareness of hypogonadism among community health center (Puskesmas) in Yogyakarta province, Indonesia as a basis for developing workflows to enhance early detection. A descriptive observational study was conducted using an online survey and interviews with 25 Puskesmas staff (doctors, nurses, and midwives) from all districts in Yogyakarta. Result showed that only three respondents (12%) conducted early detection for hypogonadism in boys. Seven participants (28%) stated that they received reports from parents regarding problems with their child’s genital organs, with 8 participants (32%) having found cases of boy’s reproductive organ/genital disorders during their work at the Puskesmas. The development of the workflow for early detection of boys with hypogonadism includes the flow of training for Puskesmas staff as well as procedures for referring patients to specialist doctors to get treatment for hypogonadism. The workflow is needed to improve the awareness of the early detection of boys with hypogonadism in the community.
