Cellular HV Insulation Surface Resistance Monitor for Substations: The Principle and Design
摘要
In this work, we present an industrial implementation attempt of IoT which is focused on the electric power industry, specifically on the monitoring of the surface pollution development at substation vicinity, where number of high voltage insulators are in operation and where polluted surfaces pose a risk for breakdown. The goal of the innovation was the design of an autonomous device for monitoring the state of pollution of external insulators, which works on the principle of the Internet of Things. The measured values of featured parameters are sent from the designed device to the Internet, where there are stored and applied for surface resistance monitoring. This data can further be used as a reference for the design of external insulation in a given location and for the design of cleaning works of transmission lines.
