This paper outlines a novel approach for modeling the decision-process of selecting a restaurant utilizing type-3 fuzzy logic (FL). The key idea of the approach is representing the uncertainty in decision-making with type-3 FL, which in theory can surpass type-2 and type-1 in this task. The type-3 fuzzy model consists of fuzzy rules that contain expert knowledge in the decision-making process, while type-3 membership functions represent the uncertainty of the linguistic concepts involved in obtaining a decision. The type-3 fuzzy model was tested with an illustrative application to verify its correctness. In the future, we also plan to compare the results of type-3 with the type-2 and type-1 models to highlight the advantages of the proposal.

摘要
