Exploring Adaptability of Miniature Painting to New Media
摘要
Humans share knowledge through communicating stories across generations. The sharing of knowledge depends upon the technology of that era. With the developing technology, much of the knowledge gets adapted and represented in the relevant medium. This paper shares the adaptation and representation of paintings created in India’s Medieval era 13–15th century. The style of painting is popularly known as Miniature painting. The miniature paintings are known for their detailed and rich representation of ambience and storytelling. The painting’s characteristic features were studied and, with minimum or no difference in style, converted into animation. Further, to provide authentic data and information with relevant imagination, the AR-based platform is generated to give a holistic experience through an interactive medium. The paper concludes by discussing the relevance of revival through interactive platforms for knowing, learning, and experiencing the knowledge inscribed.
