Role of Family, School Environments, and Barriers to Reporting Behavior: A Research Proposal on Combating Cyberbullying Through Online Forum Theater
摘要
In the digital era, cyberbullying has emerged as a significant issue with adverse impacts on adolescents. This research proposal aims to investigate the influence of family and school environments on adolescents’ vulnerability to cyberbullying. It proposes studies that evaluate the potential of online interactive forum theater as an innovative intervention to foster empowerment and resilience. This research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to explore how family dynamics and school environments can mitigate adolescents’ susceptibility to cyberbullying victimization. Additionally, it will explore barriers and motivators for reporting cyberbullying, including cultural factors. The research also proposes to study the potential of online interactive forum theater in promoting active discourse and coping mechanisms among adolescents, as well as the motivations and deterrents for participating in physical forum theater among adolescents, and the potential of adapting these interventions to an online setting to reduce barriers. The findings from this research are expected to inform the development of targeted interventions that consider environmental and cultural factors, with the goal of enhancing the resilience and safety of adolescents online.
