Metal Powders and Powder Metallurgy
摘要
Metal powders are widely used as feedstock in manufacturing functional and structural components such as filters, self-lubricating bearings, small tools and inserts, gears, and other precision mechanical parts. The chapter opens with a review of the main methods used for metal powder production, highlighting how different synthesis routes affect powder properties. Subsequently, it discusses the consolidation of powder particles into final components through densification processes. The fundamental principles of powder metallurgy, especially solid-state and semi-solid-state sintering, are explained in relation to the physical phenomena involved.
