Potential energy refers to the energy any object has because of its position in a force field. Kinetic energy is the work required to accelerate an object to a given speed. Mechanical energy due to the pressure of the fluid is known as pressure energy. This chapter discusses various forms of mechanical energy as well as electric energy.
