It enables real-time collaboration among geographically dispersed teams and, as such, improves communication and project coordination. Digital twins provide dynamic, real-time representations of construction projects thus facilitating efficient monitoring and predictive maintenance. VR and AR technologies create safe, controlled environments for training and hazard simulations and enhance workforce preparedness and safety. These technologies also contribute to sustainable construction practices by optimising resource use and minimising waste. However, integrating the Metaverse into construction management poses challenges including technological compatibility, high initial costs, data security, and the need for industry-wide standards. Overcoming these barriers requires strategic approaches such as developing interoperability standards, fostering public–private partnerships, and investing in workforce training.
