Future Research: A Long-Run Overview of Human and Economic Development in Northern Eurasia
摘要
This concluding chapter synthesizes the book’s key findings on long-term economic development in Northern Eurasia, emphasizing the complex interplay of technological innovation, institutions, geography, and human capital. It examines the dynamic balance between long-term structural trends and short-term economic shocks, highlighting the role of expectations, policy interventions, and technological change. A key insight emerges from the concept of regression to the mean, which suggests that economic trajectories tend to converge over time while remaining shaped by cycles of technological progress and institutional evolution. Looking ahead, future research should explore the impact of AI and automation on global labour markets and economic inequality.
