Students with dyslexia often face barriers when interacting with digital content, which can affect their academic performance and limit their participation in educational environments. This chapter presents the development and initial evaluation of a browser extension designed to improve digital accessibility for these learners. The tool allows users to personalize essential reading settings such as font type and size, line spacing, background color and includes both text-to-speech and AI-powered text simplification features. Its design is based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and informed by current research in assistive technology and inclusive education. To evaluate the tool, a diverse group of 138 participants ranging from students to educators and specialists tested its usability and usefulness. The results show that the extension enhances readability, supports autonomy, and reduces barriers to accessing information. Participants particularly appreciated the ease of customization and the ability to simplify complex texts. This study offers practical evidence that browser-based tools, when thoughtfully designed, can promote more inclusive and equitable learning experiences.

摘要
