Technology-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT) for the Treatment of Learning Disabilities (LD)

The article analyzes the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) based on technologies to treat learning disorders in literacy and numeracy in students aged 10 to 12 years in Ambato, Ecuador. These CBTs integrate digital platforms that allow immediate feedback and personalization, improving students’ academic performance and emotional well-being. The study highlights that, while 64% of the students do not have severe difficulties reading and writing, 53% face serious problems with calculus. The implementation of tools such as interactive games, structured exercises, and relaxation techniques is proposed to address these problems. In addition, the need for individualized interventions, adapted to the cognitive and emotional abilities of each student, is emphasized. However, the success of these therapies depends on adequate teacher training and technological infrastructure. Ongoing training is essential to ensure effective integration of CBT into the educational system. These therapies not only improve academic skills, but also reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and foster student autonomy, contributing to their integral development and inclusion in a more equitable environment.
