Access to safe, renewable energy is critical for eradicating poverty, preventing deforestation, and combating climate change. The majority of impoverished people and residents of rural areas in the Sundarban Delta satisfy their energy demands by gathering biomass. Biomass use has an impact on biodiversity, deforestation, and climate change, all of which are substantial contributors to global warming. As a result, there are evident links between human well-being and environmental conservation when it comes to access to clean energy. Therefore, the only viable option is to install a renewable energy producing system in easily accessible and acceptable locations. A dependable tool for determining the viability of a location for solar power plants is capable of environmental protection. This study was focused on the deltaic region of West Bengal which enforces multiple problems due to its geographical location and physical environment. By employing geographic information system (GIS) and multi-criteria approach, this study proposes some suitable sites, where micro-solar power plant could be installed. The findings of this study would serve as a model implementation which can distribute equal renewable power supply in core area of Sundarban, where forest and biodiversity conservation are a major concern.
