Media and Conflict in the ‘Land of Upright People’
摘要
This chapter describes and presents the research context. The social, political, and economic situation in Burkina Faso has been shaped by instability that affects the media system, proximity radio stations, and society as a whole. Hence, the radio landscape is depicted in a historical context with a particular focus on the past decade that is influenced by increasing insecurity. This context also shaped the methodological framework, the research design, and the data collection process. These are described briefly with a special focus on conducting research in volatile, conflictive contexts.
