What Do We Know of Gender, Media, Peace and Conflict?
摘要
Despite the increasing scholarly attention that the media-conflict nexus has received, the field remains under-theorized. Much of the studies focus on mainstream news media, on violent armed conflict, and lack a gender perspective. The rare research on media and conflict that include a gender or feminist perspective tend to focus on gendered media representations of war or female journalists covering war for mainstream news media. There is a considerable lack of research that engages with gender dimensions in local journalism and proximity radio.
