In recent years, European film production has steadily sought to secure a larger share of the global market. However, European content remains significantly underrepresented on streaming services and Video-on-Demand (VoD) platforms. This issue is especially pronounced in Europe, where competition between European and American content often leaves the former at a disadvantage. Despite efforts by the European Union to regulate the audiovisual sector, these initiatives have largely proven ineffective so far. In this chapter, we examine consumption patterns specifically on Netflix, assessing the global market penetration of European audiovisual works, and analyzing the impact of algorithmic recommendations and content curation across European countries.

摘要
