Executive Functions in Adolescents with ADHD
摘要
Executive function difficulties are present in most children and adolescents with ADHD and are believed to contribute to the major functional impairments observed in ADHD populations. This chapter reviews current empirical evidence of executive function difficulties in adolescents with ADHD, including how executive functions are typically assessed and what factors influence the development of executive functions. The chapter highlights how executive functions are related to functional impairments in school, peer, and family settings and discusses interventions designed specifically to target or compensate for executive functioning challenges in adolescents with ADHD.
