ADHD and Girls
摘要
Until recently, little attention has been paid to the gender differences in presentation and impact of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Whether through variations in neurobiology, gendered socialization, or other factors, girls are more likely to have delayed diagnosis and are less likely to be referred for evaluation for ADHD. This chapter explores the distinctive presentation, diagnostic challenges, and common comorbidities of girls and young women with ADHD.
