MR-Guided High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) for Prostate Cancer
摘要
The prognosis for patients diagnosed with localized prostate cancer (LPCA) is often uncertain, particularly in those with low to intermediate risk disease as some may progress while others may have minimal impact on the patient’s life. Therefore, the management of LPCA remains challenging and requires a careful balance between achieving a favorable oncological outcome and mitigating the potential morbidity associated with conventional treatment modalities such as surgery and radiation therapy. MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) therapy emerges as a promising minimally invasive focal treatment option for LPCA, offering precise tumor targeting, and potentially leading to the eradication of PCA, while preserving the patient’s quality of life with minimized side effects.
