Internet Security Issues in Robotics for Brain-Computer Interface: Opportunities and Challenges
摘要
In recent years, the convergence of robotics with brain-computer interfacing (BCI) has created new advancements in various domains, from healthcare to entertainment, marketing, and psychology. As these technologies advance, they introduce a variety of opportunities but also raise critical challenges, particularly in the realm of internet security. This chapter first explores the internet security-based challenges faced by BCI-based robotics applications in healthcare, then it presents case studies of successful BCI-robotics systems, analyzes their security measures, and distills valuable lessons and best practices for future development. By adopting proactive mitigation strategies, including encryption, access control, cybersecurity awareness, and ethical guidelines, stakeholders can navigate these challenges and harness the full potential of BCI-integrated robotics while safeguarding user privacy and security. In doing so, the way for a future can be paved where BCI technology empowers individuals and augments human capabilities while upholding fundamental principles of privacy, security, and ethical conduct.
