Breast Reconstruction with Robotic-Assisted DIEP Free Flap: TEP Approach

Robotic-assisted DIEP flap harvest using the totally extraperitoneal (TEP) approach offers a minimally invasive technique for breast reconstruction. This method preserves the rectus muscle and fascia while allowing precise pedicle dissection in the preperitoneal space with a single port robot. Key considerations include patient selection based on pedicle anatomy identified in preoperative CTA imaging. This approach reduces donor site morbidity, postoperative pain, and recovery time.
