Position Taking in Learning from Religions and Worldviews
摘要
Religions and worldviews carry truth claims. This raises the question of how to deal with religion in religious education in state schools. Is it possible to comprehend the inner rationality of religions and worldviews without position taking? Is it compatible with the right to religious freedom to invite students to take position? This chapter will address them by first analyzing the process of position taking from a phenomenological perspective, then embedding this process in the educational framework of Bildung or “learning from” respectively, and finally discuss how position taking can be enrolled into pedagogical analysis. Doing so the contribution will argue that position taking is a powerful pedagogical means of religious and worldview education in plural society.
