Inland Wetlands Water Quality Assessment

In this section, we present an overview of Inland and Man-Made wetlands and their seventeen and eight subtypes, respectively. Consequently, we present the ecological and economic significance of these sites in association with their role in mitigating the impacts of anthropogenic activities. The study presents the regional biodiversity, water quality, land cover patterns, and wetland health for all sixty-nine inland Ramsar sites. It is observed that Deepor Beel has the lowest wetland health score of 37.80%. However, Pala Wetland and Keoladeo National Park observed maximum eutrophicated and turbidity areas of 98.39% and 91.48%, respectively. The impact of human activities through pollution, land reclamation, and site development was assessed by comparing national site management with Ramsar and Global standards. Lastly, the study presents innovative technology integration in order to enhance the efficiency of the Inland Wetland Site Management.
