I add to the discussion around Indigenous Psychology(IP) and Decolonial Psychology(DP) by evaluating them through the template of historical-materialism. This template finds IP/DP lacking in scientific and political value. This compromises IP/DP’s capacity to understand, explain, and predict the psychology of indigenous people, and also how to advance this psychology in ways that generate political fulfillment for indigenous people.
