This article provides an overview of Digital Humanities, highlighting its key characteristics and tracing its evolution from the early computer science projects related to the humanities in the 1940s to the present day. It discusses the primary applications of Digital Humanities and acknowledges the significant contributions of notable authors in the field. Additionally, the article reflects on how this discipline intersects with educational innovation, advocating for interactive methodologies, open access to knowledge, and online collaboration. Digital Humanities embodies an interdisciplinary blend of traditional humanities research with computational tools and methods, enabling the analysis of vast amounts of text through distant reading to explore literature, culture, history, art, and social practices.
