In the last years, policies aimed at improving the living conditions of families with children have set the main priorities of the international agenda. In this paper, the main aspects of the household budget and the EU-SILC surveys are presented, and an overview of the findings on relative and absolute poverty among families with children is given. In addition, a logistic regression analysis is carried out showing how socio-demographic characteristics of households affect the likelihood of being at risk of poverty or below the absolute poverty line. The profile drawn by the various indicators of vulnerable children and their families is remarkably consistent among the observed indicators and outlines the unequivocal stratification of poverty in Italy for different characteristics.

摘要
