The Future of Financial Inclusion in Africa: Policy and Strategic Innovations
摘要
This Chapter presents a forward-looking roadmap for advancing financial inclusion in Africa through strategic policy reforms and technological innovation. Building on the insights from earlier chapters, it redefines financial inclusion as not merely access to financial services, but the meaningful and sustained use of tools that empower individuals and enhance economic participation. The chapter explores how technologies such as mobile money, digital ID, agent banking, and fintech platforms can be leveraged to reach underserved populations, while also emphasizing the importance of consumer protection, gender-intentional design, and ecosystem coordination. Regional integration and public–private collaboration are highlighted as critical enablers of scalable, inclusive solutions. The study concludes with practical recommendations for governments, regulators, financial service providers, and development partners, positioning inclusive finance as a driver of resilience, equity, and sustainable development across the continent.
