Latvia is driving its digital transformation through comprehensive information and communication technologies (ICT) strategies and investments. The “Digital Transformation Guidelines for 2021–2027” provide the framework for the country's digital development, with a focus on digital capabilities, infrastructure and sector-specific transformations. The ICT sector is one of the fastest growing industrial sectors in Latvia and contributes significantly to the economy, and is also relevant for the use of public services. The country has invested in AI and machine learning for public services, implementing solutions in road safety, tax management, and government operations. Despite these advancements, Latvia faces challenges in improving citizens’ digital skills and strengthening connectivity infrastructure. This article highlights some of public administration centered topics to support the digital transformation.
