It provides an overview of the principal regions studied, detailing the facilities and tools used in saltworks across different periods. The focus is on identifying key technological variations based on archaeological, historical, and ethnographic evidence. It assesses the current state of knowledge, highlights significant gaps, and suggests directions for future research.
