Abduction—Analogy/Narratology—Discovery
摘要
How do we discover something? We generally do not search blindly, but exploit a kind of discovery serendipity. For example, medical breakthroughs like penicillin are the result of search in a carefully delimited context, rather than accidental luck. Typically we must prepare before discoveries. We must see the future. I will discuss human discovery from the viewpoint of abduction. The abduction process will be powered by analogy and narratology. I will use examples of the previous works, for instance, art appreciation.
