With the increasing uncertainty of the global economy, how to appropriately implement the diversified strategy has become a key issue that needs to be deeply analyzed. We collected 202 Internet Service Enterprises from Chinese A stock exchange during 2017 from 2021. The 1010 observation was collected for the research. Results show that there is a clear negative relationship between the diversified strategy of Chinese Internet Service Enterprises and their performance, which reveals that the diversified strategy may constitute a certain obstacle to the growth of enterprise performance. In order to more fully understand this phenomenon, research further introduced hefendal-herschmann index lag item, the regression analysis shows that both lag phase or lag phase ii, the influence of hefendal-herschmann index has not reached a significant level, the result further strengthens the diversified strategy failed to effectively improve the current and the future enterprise performance. In view of this, this study proposes that, for Internet Service Enterprises, a more prudent and prudent strategy should be adopted when implementing the diversified strategy. In view of the broad development prospects and fierce competition of the Internet service industry, enterprises should focus on their core business to consolidate their market position and ensure the steady growth of long-term competitiveness and performance.
