This bibliometric study analyzes the research landscape of destination image, focusing on spiritual tourism from 2006 to 2024. Utilising data from 135 Scopus-indexed publications, this study examined publication and citation trends, influential authors and institutions, key themes, and emerging topics. Findings reveal a growing research interest, with Asian countries, particularly India and China, leading the contributions. Co-citation analysis identifies three main clusters: conceptual and theoretical aspects of spiritual tourism, factors influencing destination image and religious tourism management, and pilgrimage and sacred place studies. The analysis of co-keywords reveals four main themes: behavior and experiences of tourists, current management challenges, cultural and economic aspects, and sustainability of destination image. The study recommends developing integrated theoretical frameworks, enhancing methodological diversity, and expanding research contexts geographically. Although there are some limitations, including dependence on Scopus and publications in the English language, this study contributes to the existing literature by systematically examining the environment of spiritual tourism research and recommending future research pathways. The findings offer valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in tourism development and destination marketing, particularly those interested in the intersection of spiritual tourism and destination image formation.

摘要
