New Trends in Establishing a Sustainable Culture for Green Marketing in Educational Institutions
摘要
This study offers insights into the educational practices employed to raise awareness towards sustainability, aiming to build a long-term strategy for green marketing. The study employs two learning theories: Cognitive Development and Behavioral Psychology. Cognitive development evaluates whether the existing knowledge of sustainability in students’ cognition falls in the short-term or long-term memory. This is observed by evaluating the applications of sustainability in students’ habits. On the other hand, Behavioral Psychology evaluates the adoption of sustainability-related habits by utilizing operant conditioning, reinforcement, and contingent feedback as instructional tools. These educational insights serve as long-term green marketing strategies to promote sustainable development goals (SDGs) that will benefit communities eventually. This approach assumes that students of an educational institution are exposed to random information on sustainability from various sources and have experienced random practices that could have temporary and unsystematic effects. So, this educational approach aims to strengthen the outcome of the educational process, which positively affects the green marketing industry.
