Venture capitalists raise funds from various sources and provide the same to the budding entrepreneurs who wish to give life to their brilliant ideas. Venture capital is flourishing in US Silicon Valley and the valley is known for the innovations, the credit goes to venture capitalists. Similarly venture capital is shaping the Indian economy. The ecosystem which supports venture capital in India has undergone drastic transformation and this is due to the technological advancements, conducive regulatory reforms and the increased interest of investors. Venture capitalists provide funding for the businesses engaged in new ideas, new technologies, new processes, and new services. Since it contributes immensely towards innovations, evaluating the progression of venture capital funds is of crucial significance. Thus, the main focus of this research paper is to analyze the dynamic landscape in venture capital funds in India from 2012 to 2022. The study uses mean scores, standard deviation and percentage change to determine the key trends of venture capital funds within the period of study. The major findings reveal that there is significant growth in Venture Capital funds and the number of deals for the year 2021 though it is a pandemic period. The number of Venture Capital deals is the highest for the small ticket size (<$10 Million) and the least for the large ticket size (more than $100 Million). The findings are of great relevance to the budding entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and policy makers.
