Maternal Physiologic Changes of Pregnancy
摘要
In pregnancy, the body changes to support a growing fetus and prepare for delivery. These alterations to various organ systems are adaptive responses to hormones, fetal size, and physiologic needs of the parturient and fetus. Most of these changes return to pre-pregnancy status in the postpartum period. This chapter will highlight some of the different physiologic changes by organ systems and will also discuss their clinical significance.
