Investigating the Motivational Drivers and Influential Factors Affect Consumer Buying Decision on Eco-friendly Products in India

This research evaluates the key motivators and factors that drive buying decisions for eco-friendly products in India, which is an emerging market for sustainable consumption. A descriptive research study is examined the key determinants, namely environmental awareness, health concerns, social influences, price support, brand trust, and technological innovation. The stratified random sampling used to capture the characteristics of the consumers across the age, gender, income, education, and geographic areas. There were around 586 participants in the survey and a structured questionnaire was developed to capture data from a very large sample of consumers across India. The survey included both, close-ended and Likert-scale questions all directed towards the objectives outlined. The data collected was analyzed with the help of Anova and regression analysis. To conclude, the buying decisions for eco-friendly products in India influenced by environmental awareness, health concerns, price concerns, social influence, brand trust and technological advances. While the market for green products is growing, businesses and policymakers must further address affordability, accessibility, and awareness within the green consumption movement to catalyze conscious consumerism across various strata of Indian society.
